Barbados

[Eden]
Well, we are finally back from our last vacation of the summer: Elliot and I to the grandparents in Pennsylvania and mommy and daddy to Barbados, wherever that is! Anyway, below is an experimental link to a few pictures from their time there (I'm trying to figure out this Picasa web album thing). They were celebrating their 10th anniversary! They've been married more than twice as long as I've been alive. Wow. Anyway, if you want to see more pictures, you can go to www.fisherkids.net, where daddy and mommy have posted a hundred pictures and lots of commentary about Barbados. Later!

Family Camp

[Elliot]
We'll, we're safely back from a delightful four days at our church's family camp in Maine. It was so much fun! The weather was nice but very chilly during the nights--50 degrees or so, and we were in very rustic cabins. Fortunately our sleeping bags were nice and warm. Being a city kid, the outdoors totally fascinates me. There is so much to see and do! If you look closely, you can find all kinds of worms, ants, crickets, frogs, and other bugs on the ground, hawks and other birds in the air, loons on the pond, and fish in the lake! We actually went fishing again--this time in a canoe--but we weren't able to convince the little fishies to taste our worms. :O) Eden and I also really liked the frogs! A group of my sister's friends caught a bunch of frogs and shared some with us. They were so interesting--very smooth and slimy. What else did we do...played wiffle ball, roasted marshallows around the campfire, swam in the lake, sang songs, and generally spent lots of time with our friends. Daddy and mommy almost felt like I was their only child for a while since Eden spent so much time with her friends! Daddy and mommy had a good weekend too, just hanging out with their friends, sailing, playing tennis and soccer, and sitting on the beach. Tough life for them, I tell ya. Overall, I had a lot of fun. On the way home I told daddy "Go camping again?"

This week our kitchen will hopefully be completely finished! For the past two months the carpenters have been renovating the kitchen in our apartment, which means everything is dusty and we have even less space to run around! What else...oh yeah, mommy and daddy are celebrating their 10th anniversary on Sept. 7, so they are dropping us off at our grandparents' houses for a whole week while they go away! Lucky them. But I'm happy to stay with my grandparents, too--they are lots of fun! Talk to ya soon.

Camping

[Eden]
This weekend we went camping on Cape Cod with our friends the Gardners. They have even more kids than mommy and daddy--four to be exact! There was so much to do--playing at the playground, going on bike rides, roasting marshmallows over the fire, eating the large breakfasts daddy cooked (I think we eat better at the campsite than at home!), playing at the beach, and just playing with my friends. I also tried my hand at fishing this weekend (I am a fisher, after all), and caught FOUR fish in a half hour! It was a blast. Sunday morning it rained a bunch, but Daddy put up a tarp so we had a place to eat and hang out.

This weekend we are going to Maine for four days for our church's family camp. Elliot and I are so excited--what could be better than many of our church friends all in one place for several days? We'll post some pics when we get back.

The things I do and say

[Elliot]
Let's see, what have I been up to recently? Well, the other day, my big sister wasn't being nice to me and she hit me in the tummy. Right away I said, "Owww, hurt the baby." We all started laughing. I know Mommy has a baby in her belly, and we don't want to hurt it, but I guess I was a bit confused about the fact that I don't have one too!

One of my favorite things to say these days, whether I see a critter, a piece of dirt, or a fuzzy, is, "Ewwwwww, a bug." And I have to make sure everyone looks at what I'm pointing at.

Today we went to pick some stuff up from a friend's apartment, and I walked/ran all the way home--about 3/4 of a mile. I certainly don't mind getting my exercise as long as it's outside. In fact, when we were about a half block from home, I turned around and tried to go the other way because I didn't want to go inside when we got there.

Last week we went to see a free performance of Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" on the Boston Common...so today I got inspired to dig into some more of the Bard's stuff. I don't know what he was saying, but I thought I was funny!

In a couple of weeks, we're going to the midwife (remember my sister used to call her the middle wife when I was in Mommy's belly!) to hear the baby's heartbeat again. I just loved it the last time we went, and for several days afterwards I kept saying, "Go van? Hear baby?"

Well, I guess that's all for now. We need our sleep tonight because tomorrow morning we're heading to Cape Cod for our second camping adventure. We went a few weeks ago and we all loved it, so we're off again, this time with our friends, the Gardners, which will make it even more fun! I can't wait to play in the sand, try my hand at fishing, and just be outside all the time--my favorite thing in the world! Thanks for reading!

Two years later...

[Elliot]
Well, it's been quite some time since daddy has posted anything on our website (www.fisherkids.net) about me and Eden, so I thought I'd take the initiative and start a blog about our lives here in Boston. Perhaps this way I can sneak some photos and stories on the web for our families and friends. So...nothing really yet, but here's a pic just for fun from our recent outing to Fenway Park to watch the Sox play the Cleveland Indians. They didn't win, but I had fun eating popcorn and Fenway Franks and climbing up and down the bleacher steps!

More later...
